The Ackleton Community Group formed in 2021 and reignited the Village Hall which had been left untouched for 10 years. The group have held social, charitable and religious events and gatherings since opening the doors in July 2021. The ACG have held donations for the Ukrainian crisis and hosted a visit from the Bishop of Hereford. After the impact of COVID-19, community spaces and halls have never been so important and the ACG have been dedicated to providing this space again for our residents.
For the Jubilee weekend, the ACG are holding two events.
On Thursday 2nd June the ACG will be hosting the ‘Best Jubilant Display’. Both the MP and a Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Shropshire have been invited to come and judge whilst doing a ‘walk-about’ at 2pm. The winner will be announced at the Village Hall with a champagne and canapés reception. The winner will receive a £100 voucher. Alongside this, the ACG are creating a pop-up exhibition of coronation and jubilee artefacts, whilst also protecting footage from the coronation.
On Sunday 5th June, the residents efforts of decorating their houses will provide the perfect backdrop for the Ackleton Jubilee Street Party where we will join in with the nation by hosting our very own Jubilee lunch.
