Trooping the Colour ~ We are working with Becci Kenning ‘Art in Transit’ and our very own Pippa Ward (Surrey Artist of the year 2019) to produce a fun participatory creative and somewhat jovial event that celebrates our Queen’s love of horses in this her Platinum Jubilee year. All residents, irrespective of age are invited to join in with a ‘Brockham Troops the Colour’ parade, culminating with a marching formation display. Obviously, not everybody has a real horse, but everybody can make a hobby horse! Our parade will see participants from village groups, societies and individuals in ‘regiments’ wearing customised t-shirt uniforms and riding their hobby horses! Workshops for the creation of the hobby horses and regimental uniforms are planned to run on weekends leading up to the 4th of June. The parade will be followed by the Hobby Horse Grand National and other horsing around activities!
Sunday 5th June – Continuing The Queen’s love of animals theme, there will be a pet blessing service and the Nursery School duck race. Residents street parties.
