Chard Town Council is responsible for the provision of a number of local services including allotments, cemetery, markets, parks and open spaces and street cleaning.
Thursday 2nd June
• Lanterns making workshops held in the Guildhall, timings TBC
• Local schools will also be involved in lantern making during term-time
• Torch Lit Parade to Beacon – route to Beacon TBC
• Road closures will be in place
• Arrival at Beacon 9:00pm
• Beacon lighting 9:45pm
• Refreshments at Beacon – provided by Rotary Club
• Activities will be filmed by Warner Vision
Friday 3rd June
• Civic parade
• Thanksgiving Service
• Community concert
• Show to feature the talents of local schools and community groups and will include music/drama/poetry and more
• Show will be a ticketed event, taking place at the Guildhall, Fore Street from 7:00pm-9:30pm
Saturday 4th June
• Daytime: 1950’s fun fair/old style country fair at Freedom Leisure
• Evening: Outdoor concert at the Beacon
• Featuring various acts, including “Goodnight Lois”
• Organic Rhythm – interactive drumming workshops
• Children’s entertainment
Sunday 5th June
• Street Party
• Streets will be appropriately decorated with bunting/flags etc.
• Street entertainment
• Food stalls – street food
• Children’s entertainment
• Brass band
