The Coton in the Elms, village in bloom committee, together with community partners including our two local pubs; The Black horse and the Bubble Inn are planning a host of activities across the platinum jubilee weekend of the 4th & 5th of June. Live music, beer festival, gin festival, big jubilee lunch/ Street party and activities including; tug of war over the village brook, photo booth with the Queen, best jubilee cake competition, 40s/50s fancy dress, best dressed dog, wheelie bin race, and much more. The village in bloom committee are planning extra hanging baskets and a red white & blue planting scheme and bunting to festoon the streets and village green. The roads around the centre of the village and village green between the two pubs will be closed over the weekend. We are still pulling ideas together and engaging our community to deliver a fantastic, fun and memorable weekend for the residents of Coton in the elms and their families. It will be a most fitting tribute to our amazing Queen.
