Dowdeswell is a civil parish that is separated into Upper and Lower Dowdeswell. The Village Hall charity arranges a number of events throughout the year to bring the community and neighbouring hamlets together.
To mark the Platinum Jubilee we will be hosting a village fete style picnic lunch (bring your own food & drink), lighting a large BBQ for communal use and hosting a series of fun games the locals have come to know and love – including boules, rounders (maybe even cricket!) ‘Splat the Rat’, ‘Welly Wanging’ and ‘Egg Throwing’.
The event will run from 12 noon until late.
To mark the Jubilee, we will be running a ‘Best Jubilee Hat’ competition with a red, white and blue theme.
Also at the event there will be a raffle in aid of the Village Hall Charity.
