The event Parade will kick off the weekend on Saturday 4th June at 10.15am at the Niel Gow statue in Little Dunkeld, proceeding to Stanley Hill Park, Dunkeld where many historical re-enactment camps will be set up including THE GREAT WAR SOCIETY, SCOTS AT WAR, THE ERSKINE REGIMENT and 10th CENTURY WARRIORS. They will be joined by the Scottish and North Irish Yeomanry Pipes & Drums and Recruitment stand complete with Squadron Landrover, Jackal and Horses, Dunkeld Fire Department with their current vehicle and GREEN GODDESS, music throughout the day from Craig Herbertson, Munro Gauld and Neil Baillie and a ‘Royal’ exhibition in Dunkeld Community Archive.
On Saturday evening at 7.00pm in the Birnam Arts there will be a play performed by the Birnam Institute Players “END OF SUMMER SONG: BEATRIX POTTER IN PERTHSHIRE.

On Sunday 5th June the Army will retreat, but there will be plenty of entertainment from the re-enactment groups and the exhibition will remain open.
On Sunday afternoon at 4.30pm in Dunkeld Cathedral – THE NARRATED STORY OF THE CHURCH IN DUNKELD FROM THE 6th CENTURY TO THE PRESENT DAY WITH THE SCOTTISH PLAINSONG CHOIR AND CANTY CHOIR.

The EVENTS ARENA will host many displays including Muskets, Pike Drill, The story of the Battle of Dunkeld in 1689, and an opportunity for kids to train to defend Dunkeld against Viking attack.
There will be a raffle of an amazing hamper kindly donated by our sponsor THE SCOTTISH DELI.
A FANCY DRESS COMPETITION will be judged at 3pm on Sunday in the main events arena.

ALL PROCEEDS RAISED GO TOWARDS THE CARE OF OUR MUSEUM AND ARCHIVE COLLECTIONS AND TO ENABLE US TO HOLD A SIMILAR “LIVING HISTORY” EVENT NEXT YEAR.
