The Friends of Wombwell park look after Wombwell park to ensure it is a safe and welcoming place for local people to visit and enjoy the amenities. They have regular tidy up mornings and deliver free family activities during the school holidays which are funded by Wombwell Ward Alliance and supported by the Wombwell Community Development officer. The group also host an annual picnic in the park event every July.
On Saturday 4th June 12pm to 2pm the friends of Wombwell park are inviting families to come & join them for a community jubilee picnic in the park. Families are being asked to bring their own picnic and a blanket. Complimentary tea/coffee/juice and a jubilee bun will be provided by the group. Participants are can dress up in red/white/blue and enter a fancy dress competition. There will be traditional party games.
