Largs Community Council reflects the views of the community in Largs and represents the interests of the community. In 2021 Largs Community Council adopted the Community Garden from North Ayrshire Council which is a bright, colourful and interesting focal point when travelling through Largs. Since then Community Councillors have developed the garden and created Christmas and Easter displays to further enhance it.
To celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, a Green Canopy Plaque is being displayed and an ornamental lilac tree planted.
Local school children have been asked to design a poster to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and the winners of the competition will unveil the plaque on 3rd June at the event. The tree will be planted by a representative from the Royal British Legion.
Residents of nearby Homemount Residential Home have been invited to attend and light refreshments will be served.
It is hoped that this celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee will bring together the young people and elderly residents of Largs.
