Join the Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane for a special Jubilee afternoon tea at The Restaurant, Basingstoke College of Technology.
The catering and hospitality students have been taking on the challenge of dreaming up their own desserts to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The Mayor will judge the competition, selecting a winner fit for Her Majesty The Queen.
On arrival, guests will be offered a glass of sparkling wine or orange juice. A traditional cream tea comprising of a selection of sandwiches, scones and cream as well as samples of the jubilee pudding creations will be served by the talented students.
Tickets cost £15.95 (plus booking fee) and are available from www.jubileemayorsafternoontea.eventbrite.co.uk
The local search for a right royal dessert follows the nationwide competition run by Fortnum & Mason earlier this year to find a pudding to be dedicated to The Queen in her Platinum Jubilee year, with more information at https://platinumjubilee.gov.uk/the-platinum-pudding-competition/
