Inverclyde’s Meliora Festival brings a range of activity together starting in May and leading up to the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June for two months of celebration with something for everyone

Events include:
6 May – Opening of Gourock outdoor heated pool for the season
8 May – Gourock Highland Games, Battery Park – the first games and piping event of the Scottish season
14 & 15 May – Kip Regatta (Kip Marina) – the first Major of the Scottish sailing calendar
15 May – 50th anniversary of the first Scotland v England International football match at Ravenscraig stadium
21 May – British Pipe Band Championships, Battery Park – the first Major of the Scottish piping calendar being held for the first time in Inverclyde

24 May (7pm) – Chisholm 1 Mile race along Greenock’s historic Esplanade (Greenock Glen Park Harriers)
2 – 5 June – four day holiday weekend to celebrate The Platinum Jubilee of HM The Queen
2 June – Lighting of the Beacon at Lyle Hill, Greenock
5 June – community events to celebrate The Big Lunch, supported by Inverclyde’s Meliora Community Fund
10 June – Inverclyde warrior (High School event)
11 June – Inverclyde warrior, Battery Park. – outdoor 5K obstacle course
17-19 June – The Luminarium – a giant inflatable sculpture, Beacon Arts Centre, Greenock
18 June – Elaine C Smith, Beacon Arts Centre
19 June – Ed Byrne and friends, Beacon Arts Centre
19 June – Pop-up opera, Beacon Arts Centre (Scottish Opera)
25 June – The Comet Festival, Coronation Park, Port Glasgow
26 June – Port Glasgow 10K, Coronation Park, Port Glasgow
