The three most prominent Northumbrian Sea Angling clubs will come together for the first time to represent the communities of Bedlington, Amble, Newbiggin, Ashington, Blyth, Cambois and beyond to deliver a one-off event to mark the Queen’s Jubilee.

500 participants from across the North of England will come together over a shared passion for the coastal environment and the sport of sea angling to observe this national moment of celebration with a large Open competition.

We are supported by Northumberland Council, RNLI, The Angling Trust, Northumberland IFCA, Forward Assist Charity and the Sea Anglers Line Recycling Scheme to deliver the largest Open competition in the region in recent times. The aims of the event include recognising the broader positive impact sea angling has on people’s mental health and wellbeing, as well as reaffirming the deep-rooted respect for the sea and coastal enviroment that our community has.

Bedlington Station Sea Angling Club is a friendly group of like-minded people based around south-east Northumberland who share a passion for sea angling. We run a winter and summer league as well as host 2 Open competitions where members and non-members fish together. Typically, these Open competitions have attracted between 300-500 anglers from across the region.
