We are super excited to announce our village plans bringing the whole village together for the weekend Jubilee Celebrations as detailed below:
Thursday 2nd June
2pm – St. Barnabas’ Church bells will ring for the Proclamation.
7.30pm – Family picnic
9.35pm Beacon Lighting Event. Piper has been arranged to play Diu Regnare at 9.35pm.
9.40pm – Cornet Player will play ‘Majesty’ at 9.40pm.
9.45pm – Beacon will be lit.
Followed by our choir will sing the song of the Commonwealth.
Vintage Plane Flyby.
Friday 3rd June – Village Barn Dance (Free family event) 7.30pm – 10.30pm.
Saturday 4th June – Village Exhibition, footage of the Coronation, Flower Exhibition. Followed by the Great Village Community Walk. Refreshments will be served in the Church.
Sunday 5th June – The Big Jubilee Lunch. Main road through the village will be shut for street party. Everyone will bring food for sharing. 7 x official Jubilee Tart recipes will be cooked by committee members for sharing.
Sunday 5th June @ 3.30pm – The Community are invited to the Village Green for the official Tree planting with commemorative plaque unveiling.
