Bensham Grove Community Centre is host to a wide range of Arts Adult Learning and Community groups in Gateshead. To commemorate the Queens jubilee there will be two new decorated glass windows, designed, made and installed which will celebrate the part paid by women of diverse cultures and backgrounds in the development of Bensham Grove. The project will be led by glass artist Christine Dalton who began her glass journey studying at Bensham Grove before moving to Sunderland university where she is now a post graduate student. Christine will work with local people, students and participants at Bensham Grove to create something entirely unique and exciting for the project which is listed and holds original Arts and Crafts Stained glass, integral to the fascinating history of the building.
