Our forum is a link between council, local business, town centre developer and the community.

Purfleet-on-Thames Community Forum is taking part in the national celebrations for the Queens Platinum Jubilee, with an afternoon and evening of entertainment, to unite all communities in the local and surrounding areas. The afternoon starts at 4pm with a VE Day 75th anniversary children’s fancy dress street party. There will be live music; brass band, gospel singers, other singers a screen on the green; showing footage of the Queens glorious 70-year reign, face painters, cosplayers, Carnival Queen stilt walker, SeaLion mascot and other entertainment, complimented with food, art and craft stalls. Additional entertainment is planned; live theatre, a roving silhouettist, historic buses, a bird of prey display and choir. Something for all the family.

At 9:35pm Edwin Palin, Pipe Major from Sutherland Pipes and Drums will play ‘Diu Regnare’. At 9:40pm a cornetist will play ‘Majesty’, both pieces of music were especially written for this prestigious occasion. The evening concludes with the lighting of the Purfleet-on-Thames Beacon. More than 1,500 beacons will be lit throughout the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories. To round off the day there will be a spectacular 10-minute firework display finale.
