Design, build and race your own miniature ship in our Small Ships competition from the 1st of June at 11 am to the 4th of June at 6 pm. The prizes will be awarded on Sunday 5 June at 2.00 pm by our Mock Mayor of Barton, Hashim Norat. May the best mariner win!

Love the Tall Ships? Fancy sailing yourself? Now is your chance. Alongside the Tall Ships this year we are running Small Ships. Race your miniature boat over a fathom (that’s 6′ to landlubbers) in our specially-designed course and record your speed. We’ll be offering prizes for design and speed in four age categories.

We’ll be providing sea and wind (okay, it’s a big fan….), you bring the ships.

ships must be no larger than 18″ high, 12″ long and 8″ wide (sails furled)
ships must be wind-powered (no motors!)
entry is open to all by donation (£1 per entry please)
entries open Wednesday 1 June at 11.00 am

Prizes will be awarded for design and speed in four categories
