As a church, we are running a Jubilee Celebration party that is a planned event through the collaboration of our Mother’s Union and our Centenary Project Worker.
There will be a street party-style lunch on the church drive (weather permitting otherwise in church) provided for by the Mother’s Union and church family. With music, games, and a tombola- who doesn’t love a tombola!
If you fetch your cuddly toy along with you there is also a chance to enter our teddy bear parachute! You can either made a parachute at home and fetch it on the day or even, make one when you get here!
There will also be a prize for the bear with the best jump!
Some events e.g. Tombola and Teddy parachute will require a small fee for prizes and materials.
As the parish church in Wombwell, we worship God together and help the community of Wombwell.
We run clubs for children and young people, a spoke for the Trussell fund food bank, a community cafe, and are at the heart of Wombwell- just off of the high street.
Mother’s Union is charitable organisation that helps families both here in England and around the world. It was started by a rector’s wife Mary Sumner, to help women raise children. It is still carried on today to help support all aspects of family life, no matter what that looks like.
