Stanley Residents Group, with the support of Stanley St Peter’s Primary School, are hosting village celebrations for the Platinum Jubilee on Sunday 5 June, from 12 – 5pm. The event will take place at the school playing field.
The event is aimed at celebrating the strength, kindness, talent and generosity of the community in Stanley.
The event will start with a parade. There will be live music from talented local musicians, including country rock, Elvis and a ukulele band, and a sing a long led by the community choir.
There will be a variety of stalls and arena activities led by community groups which will promote their wonderful contributions to the village.
There will be lots of free activities for children, including arts and crafts; sports day races; a Selfie Throne; and a quiz: activities that contribute to a nostalgic ‘Green Shield Stamp Game’. There will also be a Children’s entertainer and free bouncy castle.
There will be an opportunity to reminisce too, with a visit to the Memory Tent, displaying items, pictures, photos and other memorabilia of the village history, contributed by residents.
Bring along a tasty picnic, a bottle or can of something that tickles your fancy, and join us to celebrate this historic occasion. All are welcome.
