Dovecot and Princess Drive Community Association (Informally ‘The Drive) was founded to help combat and alleviate poverty within our communities. Providing food, education/training and debt advice, The Drive utilises strong relationships with other community organisations to diversify our available services to beneficiaries. Economically excluded individuals are a foremost priority in our outreach initiatives, as well as the provision of social activities for young people, the elderly and disabled people. In addition to supporting economically excluded individuals and those out of work, The Drive also redistributes food within our community ensuring that those experiencing food crisis have access to nutritive foods sourced from high-street supermarkets via Fareshare.
Our Platinum Jubilee initiative will involve 24 weeks of art, music and music poduction tuition from Liverpool-based organisations. At the end of the teaching and creating participants will be encouraged to share their work in a jubilee exhibition hosted locally that will be open to the public. People of any ability, background or age are encouraged to take part and we are very excited to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee and prove how talented our community really is!
