Local people’s memories of The Queen over the past 70 years will be the inspiration for eight large hand painted silk flags designed by a local artist and painted by the community. The flags, and lots of hand made lanterns and paper sculptures, will be used for a village parade and BBQ on 2nd June.
We will also host a Royal Tea Dance on 5th June with live 1950’s music and the crowning of our local king/queen who will be allowed to sit in the bespoke throne made especially for the occasion by local crafts people. The hall will be decked with colourful bunting created by the local people during workshops leading up to the events.
Our community hall is small so our events will need to be booked in advance and will be open to people living in the local area first.
