Creative Ageing charity Equal Arts helps older people take part in and enjoy creative and cultural activities. Residents living at The Oaks Care Home and pupils from Malvin’s Close Academy are taking the children’s storybook The Queens Knickers as inspiration for a celebratory piece of promenade theatre. Artist & musicians have worked with older residents and school children creating a dance performance with music which will be performed in The Oaks Care Home and in the garden areas. The project has been supported by the author Nicholas Allen and Seven Stories; Centre for Children’s Books, who hold an archive of his work. Friends and relatives of residents and children taking part will be invited to enjoy the glorious spectacle being performed over the Jubilee weekend.
