On 6th February this year Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth. To celebrate this unprecedented anniversary, Salisbury Cathedral is hosting a unique concert bringing together the Central Band of the Royal British Legion, 70 Voices of St John Singers and the Commonwealth Children’s Choir in a musical extravaganza featuring, works by Frederick Handel, John Barry, John Rutter and Lt. Colonel Simon Haw and other well known composers.
The concert will focus on many of the Queen’s major contributions to her nation and the world at large. The event is surely destined to become a memorable occasion.
